WELCOME to the ISLAND CITY'S GOLF COURSE!

Cumberland Golf Club is a Championship Par 72 Municipal golf course offering some of the finest golf and Northwoods scenery in Northern Wisconsin.

The course offers a challenging yet playable round of golf for all ages. There is water featured on 10 of the 18 beautiful holes and is home to 35 bunkers. The undulating front nine is longer than the back and provides relatively open holes. The back nine is cut out of the woods and requires more controlled placement off the tee.

Cumberland Golf Club is located just a couple miles Northwest of Cumberland off of Highway 48 West. Just follow the signs!

Good afternoon.  I hope this email finds you safe and healthy.

The course is looking great so far.  I walked the back 9 yesterday for a little exercise and found myself picturing each shot I’d be taking.  (yes, most of them were from drop area’s).  The fairways and greens are in great shape.  Bryan reports the same.  Ponds are being pumped and we will begin cleaning branches and leaves tomorrow.

The pro-shop is ready to open at any time.  Merchandise inventory will be low for the first couple weeks of opening as I am holding off on clothing and some other items until we open.  As of now we are still on lock down per Governor Evers.  I remain optimistic that he will change his mind and allow golf courses to open sooner, providing all CDC and other guidelines are followed.  A petition has been going around that I and 53,000 other people has signed, asking for courses to be allowed to open.  If some of you have also signed it, thank you.  When we open, please note that we will adhere to all guidelines to ensure your safety, the safety of all guests and our staff.  Our plan was to open by April 15th, and again, I am optimistic we will open around that time.

Please view the WSGA website that is update frequently.  The latest update has the letter the WSGA has sent to Governor Evers regarding reopening golf courses. http://www.wsga.org and click on covid-19 updates.

There is a link I’d like to share with you from the National Golf Federation.  There is some good information in it such as number of courses still allowed to play with and without restrictions, and only twelve states that are mandated to close.  Please click here to view:

These are trying times for everyone, but if we all continue to do our part, follow guidelines and act responsibly, we will get through this sooner than later.

Our best wishes to you and your families.

Stay healthy, stay safe.
